There is now a connection at Gurney Lane South MTB aka Rush Pond between Excess at the south end and Hawkeye at the north end via two as of yet unnamed flow trails (that are bermed and tons of fun). The benefit is that single track exists almost totally from the trailhead at the corner of Gurney Lane and West Mountain Road parking lot and the second parking lot off West Mountain Road. Riding the two graveled hills on Rush Pond Way can now be bypassed by mountain bikers, causing less of chance for potential accidents with walkers, runners, leashed dogs, etc.
